The PPBSO, Pipers' and Pipe Band Society of Ontario, administers the Piping, Drumming and Pipe Band contests at various highland games throughout Ontario. The contests are run yearly in various locations through the summer in Ontario and several of these contests have special distinctions attached to them, such as North American Championship, Canadian and Ontario Championship.

The Niagara-Hamilton Branch is essentially and arm of the larger body known as the PPBSO. Generally, the Niagara-Hamilton Branch operates in the winter months when the regular season and contests are not in operation. Throughout the fall winter and spring months we are proud to run smaller competitions and have special events that bring entertainment to the greater Hamilton and Niagara region.

As a continually growing community we try to better our contests year after year, season after season. We as a branch are responsible for two very established and prominent contests in the piping and drumming world. The Agnew-Harrison Drumming Invitational Contest is a Professional grade contest, which is an invitation only event which brings out the best that North American has to offer in drumming for that current year. Our William Livingstone Senior Piping Contest is help every May and is also an invitational contest, which picks from the best professional pipers from North American. We are very to have and hold these two prestigious events year after year

A new fall season is coming and with that a new slate of events and what hopefully will be entertaining filled evenings. To make the most of the fall events we need your support. It is the goal of the executive to have great events, but not only twice a season, but rather for the entire season. This can only be accomplished through the help and support of the membership. Your input is greatly appreciated and will help us better meet the needs and wants of the membership as a whole. Come out to our events held in the James Street Armouries in Hamilton Ontario in the upper level of the building at the Seargents Mess.
